<%image:birthingclass.jpg%closeimage> We went to our second Birthing class today.. and here is my take.. there are several reasons why going to class is purposeful. 1. They show a brithing movie every day.. i will guarantee you by the end of the class .. you will be ready to see a birth of your own kid.. and you be least likely to faint. 2. You meet couples in the same situation. So at the beginning of class. there is an activity to talk and introduce yourself with other couples in the same city you live in. 3. Share best practices.. go over all the necessary things needed for you and your partner when it comes time to give birth to your child. This includes breathing techniques to what things to bring on your day of delivery. Issues and concerns about pregnancy is also discussed. 4. Contact numbers and information.. All in all i was thinking how cheezy or ineffective this class may be.. and how its extraordinary long.. 2.5 hours every thursday for 6 weeks.. but now I really think its worth it.. It will make this first birthing experience positive and again it boils down to the saying “what you put in, is what you will get out” and I realize that this new stage in life.. fatherhood is about being an integral part in your new family unit.. I understand that this will be my new role for several decades.. being a father is not about sitting on the side.. or mopping about how much longer do we have to do this.. The first birth of my child will be like a right of passage, a graduation.. a move to the next level.
